What is Small Business Week 2025?

Small Business Week 2025 is from October 19-25, 2025. BDC initiated Small Business Week in 1979 as a nationwide annual event to celebrate Canadian entrepreneurs and their impact on Canada’s economy. Entrepreneurs, like you and us are the backbone of our country creating jobs for ourselves and others in our community. There are several business networking events taking place during small business week 2025 including our very own BizX 2025 Business Expo & Conference by GTApreneurs.

GTApreneurs has been hosting business networking events for 6 years, starting in 2019 before covid. That’s a time we will all remember. As devasting as covid was, it brought many entrepreneurs and small business owners, who may have never met each other otherwise, together as we started offering our business networking events over video call. Increased comfort and use of video call platforms helped to increase business for our network, as we could all have back-to-back meetings, instead of spending lots of time travelling to and from appointments.

We did miss the in-person events though, and we were happy to start offering them again after covid. Several years later, we’ve hosted over 170 business networking events in Toronto, Markham, Vaughan, Newmarket and we continue to expand, with new events in Peel and Durham regions starting in 2026. Join our welcoming business community as a guest or member and see what the excitement is all about. We promise to welcome you with open arms and introduce you to others, so you feel most comfortable and supported at our events and in your business journey.
