With the new year ahead, it’s time to reflect on 2019.
Make a list of all of the things you’ve accomplished, and congratulate yourself on that.
Then think about what you want to accomplish BEFORE the end of the year, and block that time in your calendar.
I suggest, that a big part is planning out your 2020. Use a paper calendar with lines on it (or electronic, if you prefer) and hang it on the wall or in your car where you can look at it 5-6 days a week.
Always take 1 day off per week for yourself, to not do any business work. Go for a walk or do some other kind of exercise; read a non-business related book; watch a movie or TV; socialize with friends and/or family; take a day trip; go to a farmer’s market or flea market; play or listen to or sing and/or dance to your favorite music; see a comedy show or go to the theatre to see a play; get your hair done; go for a relaxing massage; or do whatever else you want to do that you really enjoy that’s not work-related.
First of all, you deserve it!
It’s important to enjoy your life. We only live once (that we know of) so we need to stop working sometimes and just feed our souls with fun.. 🙂
It will make us happier and recharge our batteries, so when we are back to our working days we are energized, refreshed and more able to do what we need and want to do to make our businesses successful.
It’s time to take time for fun, love and laughter over the holidays, but, on your blocked off working days before the new year, get everything you want to have accomplished before the end of the year done, so you are on the ball and ready to start with a clean plate or a clean slate in the new year.
Have a very Merry Christmas 🎄
